Pres. Obama Is First President in 56 Years to Skip the Heroes’ Inaugural Ball

Monday January 26, 2009– According to a report by WorldNetDaily, President Barack Hussein Obama was the first President to skip the Salute To Heroes’ Inaugural Ball in 56 years. This Ball began in 1953 and is sponsored by the American Legion along with several veterans organizations, it is designed to honor the recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor. Every President inaugurated since Dwight Eisenhower has attended this Ball. President and Mrs. Obama, neither of whom has ever served in the military, did not attend the Ball held at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC, despite attending 10 other Balls.

The Obamas did attend the Commander-in-Chief Ball, which is another military Ball. There was supposed to be a first ever Freemason’s Ball but it appears the Obamas missed that one as well. The American Legion spokesman was quoted as saying they were in no way offended that the new President did not make it to their Ball.

I am not sure if you can properly evaluate this kind of thing or find any real significance. It is possible to overanalyze this and say it points out that Pres. Obama has a poor view of the US military as is typical of Demoncrats, but I think that would be going too far. For example, from many witnesses and evidences the Clintons did despise the military, yet apparently President Clinton did attend the Heroe’s Ball at his inauguration.

I would have to evaluate this event as a yellow cautionary note to be more fully evaluated in light of more evidence.
